  • CBA Ltd

    Hi all

Tonight I received a phone call from someone who asked for me by name then asked if I had taken a loan out in 2005 with a company based in Manchester. When I asked why he wanted to know I got the spiel about how I could claim back the £1500 in PPI I had on the loan.

Anyway long short I said no PPI so then he said had I re-mortaged for x amount and I could claim against that.

He gave the name of the company as CBA LTD after some pushing said they were registered with companies house and MofJ and gave phone no as 01618500830.

When I pushed on where he got all my info finally admitted they bought the data but would not say where from I suspect it is from Land registry though.

I have searched companies house. ministry of justice and google and NOTHING also rang them back but no answer and the ring is funny.

Has anyone else heard of them?

who is best to report this to?

    Hiya Grimbell

If this is the company they were disolved according to Companies House. There are a few other CBA companies with different endings etc...

It is probably a Claims Management Company and you could also check them out on the Ministry of Justice Web site.

Everything that they can do for a fee - can be done yourself with the help of sites like LB etc. From what I can see from some CMC's they take money up front which is not recomened by the MOJ and also cold calling is not allowed.

IMHO - I would stay completely clear of this company.

If they phone back ask them for their Ltd company registration number and also the MOJ number so we can have a look in more depth who they are.

This is the MOJ Web site http://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/

    Thanks

      Re: CBA Ltd

      Hi

The point is I am not interested as there is no ppi to recover anyway. I have checked companies house and MofJ websites and they are NOT registered with either.

What P***es me off is that they have bought my info off Land Registry (I think) and have cold called but it appears they are anything but legit.

So who is best to report them too to stop others getting conned?

If you feel they have misled you or that they cold called you, this will make them in breach of their conditions for holding a Ministry of Justice Licence, then a complaint to the MOJ is very important. Well over 100 companies with licences have had them suspended ot cancelled and the more these companies are reported the better.

Can you please let us know what happens?

          Hi

I reported them to Ministry of JUstice and they have not got them on their register so have passed it to their team that investigate un registered companies.

If any one else gets a cll from these clowns I suggest you do the same seems like a scam.

            Re: CBA Ltd

I tried ringing the number which you posted on your original thread ann no surprise there was no answer. It also sounded like a foreign ring tone.

So if anyone has a phone call from them as Grimbell has said you must report them to the MOJ and try and ask for as much info as possible, for instance their MOJ number and Companies House number would be a start.
