Hi I seem to have gotten into an awkward situation with a company called doorstep refunds. They come up on Facebook (i know big mistake) and I thought i would have a quick look. Put the name of a couple of previous creditors and filled out my details and left it at that. A couple days later I received text messages asking for id and proof of credit, feeling it all felt a bit off I deleted and blocked the texts and emails and left it at that.
Or so I thought I have since been contacted by 1 of my creditors regarding the company acting upon my behalf, so I contacted them via email requesting that they stop making claims on my behalf and they have emailed back saying o owe them substantial amounts for their time spent working on my case.
In the email they have quoted an agreement i have not seen to terms i have not seen. I know it is my fault for even entertaining them and filling out the forms which probably constitutes some form of agreement but shouldnt that have been made very clear at the time?
I am looking for any advice as to the best next steps please.
Thanks.
