  • Fraudulent completion of letter of authority

I have, without any notice, been sent a notice of enforcement regards a debt owed to a PPI claims company for what I think are their fees. I have never contacted them or any other company. From what I've been able to find out my then wife (now ex) did make a claim for PPI but as it was on a joint account (the mortgage) she signed my form, faking my signature. I've reported this to the police and have contacted the mortgage provider to get more details, including whether any monies were paid to her. Do I have a claim against the PPI company as they failed to check the validity of the signature?

    Hi IAN H

What I would do is send all parties (bank, claim company etc) concerned a SAR, they have 30 days to respond.
So you have a better picture of what's gone on.

As you've reported the matter to the police, write a letter with the crime reference number and send it Recorded Deliver.
Also phone up get a name and reference number of who you speak to at enforcement department.
