  • Please help with my statue barred situation

Hello I need some advice. I was looking to remortgage my house but was unable to as I had bad credit.

I didn't think my credit would be bad as I always pay my bills so I got my credit file and found over 5 years of late payments from a company called payday loans which I in all honestly could not remember.

I emailed them to enquire and they then told me they where not trading and my dept was sold to the money shop. So contacted them to ask when I borrowed the money and why it did not default and also why they have not contacted me in all these years.

They showed me proof of the loan and 2 others I borrowed before then I remembered that I did borrow this money. They told me there is no set time to default and even if they did default it would start from today which means I would have to wait another 6 years to fall of my report.

I offered early settlement but they refused so I read about statue barred in scotland and filled out a template and sent recorded delivery but the letter was not received by their head office.

Any advise on what I should do now ?
