  • HELP -Lowell Debt Collection, Kays Catalogue

I opened an account with Kays Catalogue in 2007 as i was due my first baby and thought this would be handy to buy baby stuff.
i was doing fine paying it until my partner left and i got myself into a financial mess.
I have stupidly ignored reminder letters and now the debt has been reffered to debt collection agency Lowells. they have also somehow found out my new address and have been sending letters on a weekly basis requesting this be paid, the debt is £507. I received a letter last week informing me they will be issuing me with a CCJ and 4 days later have received one saying that if they do not receive payment immedietly they will "refer the debt to Hamptons Legal who are litigation specialists".
i really cannot afford to pay this in full and to arrange a monthly payment will be difficult! i could probably afford about £5 a month which would take ages to clear.
please help! nw i think its gettin serious i really do not want taken to court!

You need to have a read through this thread with methods for dealing wuth DCA's: ~~~ Consumer Credit Agreements - A Guide ~~~~ inc. Letters - Legal Beagles

They are unlikely to simply take you to court, although their letters do indicate that they will.
They'd rather harass you for whatever payments then can get from you.
