Hi,

Long time browser first time poster.

I've made a claim to Halifax and it went down to issuing a court claim when the OFT case stopped it.

Recently I've had a hard time of it what with family break up and mounting bills etc, so I sent a letter to Halifax claiming hardship. After completing and sending back the i&e form from their initial reply I have now had an offer.

The claim I made back in 2007 was for £1620 plus Stat int. They have offered £1592, but no intrest.

What should my next move be.

Excellent, take the money. You can still go back for the rest later.

Should I advise that in a letter to them or just return the form they have asked me to complete.

Also they say they will credit my account with the money, but I don't want to use that account any longer, i just want them to clear the overdraft and give me the difference.

Write to them and tell them you accept but that you will be pursuing your claim for the remainder after the OFT case is concluded.

You have got the figures right above though haven't you? How did you calculate originally what they owed you? Have there been further charges on this account since you filed your claim?

Tell them where you would like the money paid in to.
