I think you need to stop telephoning these people altogether. Where did the idea come from that using the telephone was at all acceptable?

This is litigation, not therapy and as such, everything needs to be in writing.

If you should receive a call from them, simply inform them that your claim is not subject to verbal negotiation and they should write to you with their offer of payment.

That's enough of the negative talk Jas !

I can understand your frustration at the delay but rest assured your turn will come.

Give it a rest for today and have another go tomorrow.
and when that phone call comes do not just jump at the first figure that he mentions. Ask him to put in in writing or an email and checkl with your OH ( and us ) before agreeing to anything.

We will make Ronan suffer for keeping you waiting LOL

Thanks Jen and Scottish Lass.. I really appreciate your best wishes...

update ... I finally got through to Ronan just now.. and I said I wasn't very happy waiting this length of time for a decision and told him that this would be my last phonecall and I would be complaining.. all he said was "its my prerogative"! and that was that!!!

This phone call was a complete contrast from when I first spoke to him 4 weeks ago.. his tone of voice was very unhelpful, unfriendly and hostile (am not surprised TBH.. I have been pestering him lol !)

    aw thanxs Outspoken!!!! ((((((hugs)))))))

Think I will try ringing him one last time before the end of today. as well as emailing him. Will tell him am gonna complain if we don't get a definitive answer..

Its been nearly 5 weeks and that's more than enough time for Abbey to make a decision I would think...

    Oh hunny, big hugs.....

It's not fair that you haven't heard. What department did you get through to with complaints - i didn't bother pressing option 1 (which is the charges team - as they all sound like robots and read of a script) but instead didn't press for an option and waited to speak to a more general compliants person as I thought they might be a bit more understanding. Is it worth calling them back and trying a different person??? Try explaining how long it has gone on and that because of the delay arrears are mounting up causing further charges, which is having a negative and stressful effect upon you and your financial situtation. This is what I did, and it seemed to work for me - i also did tell Ronan i was making a complaint - so that might have had some affect to.....

You could try emailing Ronan, but my guess is that he will ignore it until he has something to tell you - he never replied to my email. Do you have the ability to fax?? That might get a response - you could always email aswell - hit him from all side sort of speak.......

Good luck hun - if you need a shoulder to cry on, just say xxxxxx

    Hi All !

Ah well.. no call this morning from Ronan as of yet.. Have already rung Complaints (who looks as if are dealing with the Hardship claims ).. they are as useful as a chocolate fireguard !!

I don't really wanna ring him again as I'm not in the best of moods and will only (most probably) end up raising my voice and swearing at him lol. Am also a bit tearful and emotional today.. got some upsetting news yesterday with regards to our son (hes thinking of moving to Devon). I know I'm being daft and its not the other side of the world but it is still upsetting all the same. His 2 younger sisters are really upset too, they wil miss him and we wont see much of him if he moves......

I think I will email him instead. Has anyone got any suggestions what I could put in an email to him?? my brain has gone dead !

You could try calling customer complaints - it seemed to get mine moving. It's not like you have given them more than a reasonable amount of time to consider your case. They were very helpful to me. I really hope you get a call tomorrow with an offer
