Hi guys
I need help, I received a fine for no tv license and fell behind with the payments. I received a visit from a bailiff just before Christmas requesting full payment. I contacted the courts and they told me I had to deal with the bailiff. Should the courts have written to me firstly to try recover payment? Before passing it to the bailiffs. Should the bailiffs have written to me firstly to try get me to pay? My payment has now doubled almost gone up to £560 which I can't afford(original debt left of 220). I fell behind with my payments because my benefits stopped and I was looking for work, I am now in full time work and told the bailiff I can't afford to pay it all off as I'm in arrears with my rent and council tax. They are saying I'm not allowed to make instalments, is this correct?
What can I do?
