Hi Neil, what is the claim about, is it a contract, employment, family, debt matter?

Depending on what you need to know, I am sure one of us could give you most of the information about small claims and procedures.

Hello rob,I did some work at a womans house and she's refusing to pay me so I started a mcol and she has defended the claim,I received her defence along with a directions questionnaire etc,I want to submit my response but I don't know how to do it as there aren't any other forms and can't find any info on the net, there's another issue as well sent her an invoice at the start of may but had no reply so I sent another recorded delivery about 5 weeks ago, both invoices were for the same amount however the invoices differ in detail as the first one I hurried through and the defendant has flagged this point up saying I've been making it up as I go! I'm concerned it might get thrown out of court

Its unlikely that a solicitor will get involved in small claims procedures unless you are willing to pay for their costs as costs is not normally recoverable in the small claims track.

When did you receive the Defence and what is her defence that she is claiming? ? Obviously you will need to have a reasonable explanation to the court as to why you have sent an amended invoice the second time around.

If you are still within time then you can file a reply to the defence which is sued to clarify any matters that are in dispute. But surely you have some kind of other evidence that you carried out the work, text messages, emails, phone logs etc?

I got her defence 3 days ago she's claiming my work was substandard after getting someone else to look at my work while I wasn't there and told me in a text message I couldn't finish the work, the first invoice I sent her was hurriedly done and I made a few mistakes,I rectified the invoice and sent it recorded delivery, both invoices were for the same amount but I'm concerned about it as I know it could potentially ruin my claim
