  • Oh no

Hi all after trying to get HMRC to explain to us why my Oh has ended up with a £6000 underpayment of tax for year 2014/2015 they have decided he has to to pay it back no idea how we will manage to do that any advice how to approach this with HMRC DMB OFFICE and chances of negotiating would be much appreciated it all came about by not realising his Tax code was wrong when he changed jobs

    Re: Oh no

So was the tax code wrong because of an error by HMRC against your OH giving incorrect information?

If they got it wrong you have a strong case to getting the collection spread out. Cancelled is too much to hope for.

Yes we think so he went from a company car purchase scheme with one employer then started working for another company and had a van instead of a car so he received a new tax code from HMRC so he assumed it was correct

So it looks as though HMRC got it wrong (again!!). Do they, perhaps, think he still has a car and not a van.?

Not sure what they think really we have been querying for about 6 months it's been looked at by one department to another the only thing we can think of is it was a Car purchase scheme rather than a normal run company car so think the error is there somewhere just sent off another load of info this morning
