Oh well not long now I suppose. I believe I'll have credit agencies chase after me forever more then?

No once a debt becomes statute barred in England & Wales ( In Scotland a debt is extinguished after 5 years with no contact) although a debt still exists once a debtor has informed a creditor in writing that the debt is SB and they will not pay the creditor should not continue to press for payment.

If you are in England or wales the default will disappear from your file on the 6th anniversary of it being put there
