I work as a self employed salesperson selling beers for breweries on a commission and daily retainer basis. One brewery hadnt paid my Jan invoice and now not paying my Feb invoice. I realise that it is going to be difficult to get payed by this brewery so emailed them on Tuesday to tender my resignation. There are a couple of Pubs that I have sold their beer to which have called me to say that they have payments that they owe to the brewery for orders I have placed for them. They say that they will give it to me in cash. My question is....Would it be legal for me to take this money and keep it as part payment of my unpaid invoices ? Thankyou
