    There is a point in checking when the last contractual payment / acknowledgment of the debt was made, as
    Capone agreements have usually have a clause that states they can default after any missed payment.

    Bugger, thats not good news for me, where would i check for the last payment? Or acknowledgement? Sorry for all the questions but thsnks for the help

    Also capone would have to prove the debt was real wouldnt they? Dont like that buy debt put my number on it lark?

      Debts are sold by creditors such as Capone in portfolio lots often a very, very high face value these sales are made by deed under the Law of Property Act
      so it is highly unlikely that an account/debt did not exist.

      Two suggestions check your credit files ( Noddle is Free Online) to see what data is on there i.e. the date the default
      was registered with credit reference agencies which is different from the date the actual default occurred.

      Or. A call to Capone to see if they can trace the account and give you that information.
