I don't know but there's no customer service people behind it at all, if you get your number wrong it hangs up on you and there's no 'pass to an operator' at all and it really doesn't seem very professional or secure. It is a Derby number when the company are based in Malta and I can't see any links to Derby at all.

poundstillpayday-email.com doesn't seem right, have you cross checked the account number given in the email is actually your account number ?

The domain info doesn't match any of the formal urls ( hosting provider, where domain was purchased etc ) so I'm really not confident you'd be making payment to the right people.

There is a payonline section on northway website which looks a bit more secure although I'd still treat with caution - https://northwayfinancial.collstream...Payday/Payment

I think I would get in touch with the FCA and possibly forward them the email. PTP are not regulated to act in the UK at all - their interim permissions ref was 574990 - Northway Financial. Therefore some of the threats they have made in the email ( reporting to credit reference agencies etc ) are completely invalid.

I would definately give the financial ombudsman a call to set your mind at rest 0800 023 4 567 - they may well have other issues being dealt with regards pounds till payday/ northway. Or even speak with the MoneyAdviceService or CitizensAdvice.

Right, I've spoken now to another adviser at the FCA, and explained this forum thread. He fully understood the complexities, and agrees that whilst they can offer services online, that they CANNOT offer UK currency, take payment via UK banking services or UK contact numbers, as that would deem they are operating in the UK, without a UK Consumer Credit license. Nor can they add anything to my credit file.

I rang it out of intrest just to see the processes and ti see if it sounded legit or not...... I'm really confused and annoyed at the same time, if they rang me and I spoke to an actually person I would of had no problems...... There have virtually gone of the radar and are still adding fees so someone is still doing administration of some description

It's really stressful having this hanging over me though, I don't ever recall using the payment line before no, and I don't really have the knowledge or time to argue with them.... I'd rather cut my loss and never get one again than run up a huge bill.

I suspect there's thousands of people who just pay up as it is easier than arguing, and that's what this kind of company relies on.

I don't know about the automated payment line - have you used it before ?

Yea there was, I had just been payed.... It was to be my last payment of 82 pound, I don't want money owed on my head, and I don't have time for arguing unfortunately will the automated payment line be fine just to pay and forget do you think? For the sake of arguing 15 pound I'd rather just settle it, is this a wise option?

They can add as many late payment charges as they like, doesn't mean that they are entitled to or that you have to pay them.

Was the correct amount of money in your account when the DD would have been claimed ? Can you evidence that was the case ( eg with your bank statement ) ?

Maybe give the Financial Ombudsman a call and see what they think.

They are just going to keep adding late payments to it though I don't understand how they have gone off the radar and are uncintactable either
