Prove more so that the public at large are not aware of the Limitation Act 1980 and " giving in" as soon as a claim pack drops on the door mat!!

Some may have been SBd debts due to ignorance, although a lot of people are aware of the six year limitation period, it's also very widely misunderstood.

The 'official' sources don't always help either, I distinctly recall someone posting up on MSE as an official representative of CCCS I think it was (now Stepchange) who offered someone help with setting up a repayment plan for a SBd debt "because it's still due and payable". :scared: :scared:

Some old debts may not be SBd because people have been making payments, the same 'official' organisations often told people to offer £1 token payments when they couldn't afford a proper DMP. The tokens are meant to be a "gesture of good will", in reality their function is to keep the debts alive forever.

Hoping for default judgment as most people just ignore the claims. Also many may have moved without informing Cabot so they'd just issue to their last known address and 14 days later, they've got judgment, regardless whether the debt was SBd or not. :incourt:

Many people who know about SBd mistakenly believe a claim cannot be issued for a SBd debt or that the claim would somehow be rejected by the court. :owhell:
