  • Lowell wants medical report!

Hi can anyone tell me please if Lowell dect collections can demand a medical report from either my gp or hospital specialest?
I rang them them and explained I no longer work as I am now disabled. They said they will send a pack to me to fill out and I will also need to send medical report. Can I refuse this as I do not think it any of their business. Thanks for taking time to read this.☺

A letter to Mr Andrew Bartle, COO the Lowell Group to inform him that
you have confirmed to Lowell that you are now disabled and you will
not be disclosing sensitive personal medical data to a company that is
not likely to understand an cannot be trusted to protect such data i.e,
        the Lowell Group.

Hi, Lowell seem to think they can demand anything they like, but the fact is they don't have any such powers, they are just a debt purchaser not a court.

Any problems Zelda come back here.

Sorry to post against the flow somewhat!

I have had several Lowell cases successfully resolved through the provision of a GPs letter, these have been cases of hardship and financial stress caused directly by ill health and disability. Upon receipt of the letter, Lowell have suspended ALL collection activity and written off the debt.

They have an in house team for vulnerable cases like this and can be very receptive if you can evidence that your health literally prevents you from paying old debts.

So so although it may seem intrusive, it might actually be the way to get them off your back permanently.

                    Good luck xxx
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

                      Re: Lowell wants medical report!

I think it was the initial demand and the sending of a pack to be completed that
                      has caused the initial concern.
Lowell's customer (dis) service department does tend to parrot the " company script"
without considering any more reasoned approach.

I think the point here was Lowells didn't ask for a GPs letter, they asked for a 'report' Maybe we've taken their request the wrong way, but surely there should be a way of them (DCAs) wording such requests so that they don't seem so demanding
