HP charges and arrears

Hi

i am currently paying an additional £50 per month on my hp agreement to clear the arrears.

can the charges I have incurred (late payments, court fees) be classed as arrears?

i have been paying the additional amount for twelve months and I'm sure the contractual payments would be up to date. I have requested a statement from the lender, but this does not seem to be their top priority.

any clarification would be helpful

Yes any contractual penalty/ default charges would be added to the arrears on the account, although they should not draw compounded interest.
You should be getting statements annually, this is a requirement and there is a sanction for them not doing so, the statement also has to be in the prescribed form.
