  • Chasing a debt from 2000/2001

1st National Tricitiy Finance are chasing a debt from 2000/2001, is there anything we can do to stop them doing this? We have not heard anything from these since we left that property in 2001 until last week, we have been at our current address since 2006, so not quite sure why they've waited until 13 years later.

    Thank you

OK, is the debt on credit file? I Doubt It.
No payment or written admission of the debt in six years?
Is this an unsecured loan? If so it's statute barred.

      Hi Nemesis

No there isn't nothing on the credit files, no contact in anyway, shape or form and it was finance for a fridge/freezer when we set our first home up.

Do i write back to them explaining that its statue barred or just leave it?

      Thank you

If you don't want to be harassed by DCA's pleading for payment send the statute barred letter.

Then report to the FCA and take to the FOS is they don't get lost after that.
