Can I ask if anyone here has any "inside" knowledge of Provident ?

I need to know if a Provident agent can authorise a loan for his/her partner/spouse etc.

or would this be deemed as a conflict of interest

    Many thanks

        Hi
        Thanks for your replies.

I did send Provi a FOI Request & got this response:

        Dear Sir

Thank you for your request for information.

I can assure you Provident have established policies and procedures in place. We cannot give you the amount of detail you are requesting as this is commercially sensitive and is generally only released to our regulators upon request. If you have any specific query or questions regarding a specific customers account we can of course look into this for you. We would need however the customer details and if you are not the customer, their permission to do so.

        Yours Sincerely,

        Customer Relations.

        .. typical customer relations b/s

I may reword my request & resend.
will update here anything I can find

          Re: Provident Agents

Provident are not legally obliged to respond to FOI requests, FOI are for state funded authorities and departments, not private sector companies.

What you should be doing is just asking them directly if its acceptable under their policy or not. Off course, their not obliged to tell you anything unless your the customer that's effected.

To be honest, i don't see it not be allowable for family members to get loans of agents that are family, so long as the person taking the loan passes all relevant checks.

Unless you are the Agent why on earth would they tell you anything?
