When do defaults drop off?

Do defaults drop off on exactly the 6th anniversary of it being placed or do they usually fall off earlier? I've seen lots of reports of people saying they disappeared a few weeks before...

Callcredit/Noddle often take them of a week or two early. The others don't.

So for Experian and Equifax it will likely be an overnight removal on the 6th birthday? It may seem like I'm splitting hairs but the date my last default falls off is the date my life gets a lot easier. Has anyone had any success in getting lowlifes to remove a default early, even like 2 months early would make a big difference.

For Experian yes, they should come off 6 years to the day. Equiafx can take quite while to update so expect them to lag behind.

hi there, I have a default on my credit file through Equifax, which the default was placed in feb 2008, to this day its still on my report x

Equifax can be very slow in taking them off. Complain to them.
