someone trying to get credit in my sons name

Hi my son has had a letter from a company offering to search for a loans for him that he did not apply for .the address was slighty wrong but his name was right and other details.Two weeks ago there was 2 letters from catalogues companys but names of 2 people one he knows.We think we know who it is how do we go about reported it.He has informed the loans company and they have stop processing it.

It is fraud and you should report it to the police as soon as possible.
