Hi,
I've had a couple of calls from a company called the Assure Review Service. They know my name and the fact that I have a pension with equitable Life - apparently their company has access to 'the database' (I no longer pay into this pension as it was from a previous job).
They are offering to get someone to visit and advise on possibly transferring from Equitable Life (allegedly now being the best time, due to new regulations, free to transfer etc....). They are saying that Equ. Life pensions will be getting transferred automatically to HBoS if I do nothing anyway, but that there are better options out there.
My main question is whether anyone has heard of the Assure Review Service - I find it strange that I can't find anything about them on the web, they don't have a website etc.
Are they just ambulance chasers who rely on commission from any transfer. Their phone number is 01625 460418, which I believe is Macclesfield. They mentioned at one point that they were fairly new, but were linked to a company called Capital Consultancy.
Thanks in advance for any insight....
