    Two debts with Lowell now

    Hi All,

    Wonder if someone would know the following please.

    Lowell have initially acquired a £3k debt from Capital One. 6 month later they have now acquired a £9k debt from Wescott who were representing Natwest.

    Can they actually combine the debt, which would then make £12k, and pass on to their solicitors to start a court action? Or would they be treated separately and both sit below £10k threshold?

    The two debts can be claimed in one action.

      A further thought. If you are able to settle the smaller account, then you would leave only the larger one, and therefore a claim below the Small Claims track limit. Overall, this may be a cheaper option for you than facing a Fast Track claim, with additional legal costs liability.
