  • Delayed postal default notice

    Hi
i received a default notice from V12 finance which advised if I paid in full by 26th Dec there would be no further charges or action. However the letter only arrived on 28th Jan. I called then straight away and they have moved my debt into someone else plus another £1000 fees. My parents confirmed with V12 that it only arrived on the 28th Jan. They said they would look into it and if they could remove the £1000 as I can pay the £475 in full. After 6 weeks and me calling them daily then weekly they have called today and said they are not removing the £1000 fees and I could not speak to them personally who investigated my complaint and I can’t appeal.
surely this can’t be right. The letter was dated 6th Dec there there is no franking or date on the envelope and I only received it on 28th Jan. Any advice please.

    Hi Brakey

    Welcome to LB

Your difficulty might be proving that the letter arrived on the date you say. Maybe witness statements from your parents.
See if others have had the same issue with V12, do Google search 'complaints V12 - late Default Notices,' check Review sites etc.

What you now need to do is make a Formal Complaint via their complaints procedure, they'll comeback with a Final Response /
Deadlock Letter, if you still not happy make complaint to the FOS.
