I got a letter from ACI on the 3rd December claiming they're contacting me on behalf of intrum. The debt relates to an old credit card dating back 23 years. They brought the debt from intrum. I have sent a prove it letter but they've ignored it. Today I rec'd a 2nd letter from them saying that they've passed it onto Verify (there partner company) who will be sending a doorstop collector. Do I have a chance of getting this debt cancelled or should I just pay it. It's for £9k and I can't afford to get a ccj as I'm about to purchase a flat with my bf.

Hi PHOLLIDAY123
Welcome to LB
Providing no payments or written acknowledgement of the debt in the last 6 years, the debt is statute barred. This is providing there is no existing CCJ for the debt.
Send ACI and Verify the following letter (they shouldn't be ignoring your letter, it's against FCA Guidelines to do so), make sure you get Proof of Postage.

Update the thread when you get a response.

Thank you for your recent correspondence.
We have requested the original credit agreement from Intrum UK Finance Limited. In the meantime, we have placed your account on hold, we will contact you in due course.
If you have any questions, please contact us on xxxx xxxx.
Do I need to wait 12 days to send the follow-up letter?
