  • inherited property with historical charges on land registry

hi , i have inherited property from a relative who recently passed away, house has been owned easy 50 year, i have found the local authority forced him to have work done 2013/14 and have placed a charge on the house which i am trying to deal with as this charge is fairly substantial and i fail to see where this amount has been spent, they cant provide a break down either, and this is all new to me , while i know what this charge is there is also another at the time listed as nram northern rock, i do not know what this is nor the extent of the charge, i have reached out to NRAM but had no joy from the lady i spoke with.
    registered at Skipton BD23 9FH .
has anyone had similar problems and any help / advise/ outcomes.
    thanks in advance

Northern Rock will be a mortgage. Northern Rock failed in 2008. NRAM was the part that could not be sold off e.g. to Virgin Money. If you have not already done so, head to this page, which may steer you in the right direction: https://nram.co.uk/

Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
