  • Recovering Debt from individuals who have left the country

We really need some advice - we have a County court judgement against two individuals for a reasonably large sum of money, They have not paid and have moved to Spain. We applied for a European enforcement order but we are not quite sure how to proceed as it seems they dont "own" property or other material assets. Although they have just started advertising their building services on Facebook. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi
    Welome to LB
I don't have any expert knowledge in this subject, but I have read that since the UK left the EU, EEOs do not apply in the same way
If the Hague Convention does not apply, enforcement must be sought under the domestic laws of the relevant EU member state

For judgements issued before 31.12.2020 the old rules still apply
