  • Car Finance advice needed

Hello, i got a car in 2019 on finance with Moneyway. I have made every payment on time over the past 4 years +.. unfortunately in January my car broke down and wasn't repairable and was therefore scrapped, Moneyway have said that i have broken the agreement by doing this and have demanded i pay the remainder of the finance within 28days (it was just under £2000) they would not accept anything other than payment in full, and I am unable to do that. HOWEVER they have continued to take my normal direct debit twice. They are still threatening me with CCJ and balifs etc. Can they still do this even though im still making regular payments? I pay £175 a month so there isn't all that long left on the finance

    Hi RARASHEPHERD

    Welcome to LB

There is a 'cost of living' crisis.

You need to convey that to Moneyway. Fill in the following I & E form. (You need give yourself a 'buffer', so you are only paying what you can afford, remember a Court will only ask you to pay what you can afford, so if it's £1 a month so be it. This is a non - priority debt).

Amend the following to suit your circumstances, don't forget to state 'cost of living' crisis.

Make sure you get Proof of Postage.

Update the thread once they respond.

Await for more advice from members, clearly the agreement will allow them to do various things if certain things happen.
