Hi, We have a customer who stopped trading with us a few years ago owing a few thousand. There was an accident in the business and an insurance claim had been put in and we were promised to be paid in full when it came through. we have been chasing an update and the insurance hadn't came through. Now the debtor wont respond to any correspondence and the company is in Liquidation. my thinking is that the insurance money might have been paid out and we are not getting what is owed as promised. Can we pursue the Director as an individual based on the insurance money of the company not being used to pay the debt?

Sorry, no. You stand in line with all other unsecured creditors. You should submit a claim to the liquidator, and regard anything you get from the liquidator as a bonus.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
