  • 22 year debt

    Hi,

I received a knock at the door recently from resolve with a card saying to call the head office in regards to a debt.
The only unsettled debt I ever had was when I divorced 22 years ago, to my knowledge i have never received a court order for this debt ( i say to my knowledge as i have lived in many different areas over the years.
Can this 22 yr old debt be enforced?

    Hi JEZRAFF

    Welcome to LB

If there is no CCJ for the debt and no payments or written acknowledgement of the debt in the last 6 years, then the debt is statute barred.

You can send them the following template, make sure you get Proof of Postage.

You might ask what debt. Then if they tell you, you can focus your attack on that. If they won't answer, then you can poliitely suggest that they go away.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
