background checks

Hello !

I am in the process of changing jobs and I have learned they will do background checks. Whilst I have not lied on my resume or committed any crimes, I did have a business in the past, that I had trouble efficiently managing my cashflows and I ended up in the small courts for some overdue council tax (that I eventually paid) and had to do a voluntary self disclosure to HMRC after finding out that I had underpaid some taxes.
Thankfully it's been solved but I was worried any of this could show up with the DBS or credit check - although I tried to see my credit check report and it mentioned none of this, just a bill that hadn't been paid on time.

It won't show up on a DBS report which is basically a criminal record check. If the prospective employer uses a specialist background checking agency which most dont, everything would normally come out.
