how long to wight for refund

Hello

I bough some goods over the phone about a month now and the courier was unable to deliver. I asked the company for a refund and they said I would have to weight until the goods where returned

I have checked the tracking number out on the calling card and it still says that the parcel is on its way back to the sender.

So is there only so long that they can keep my parcel before I am entitled to claim a refund?
