  • Marks & Spencer hold old data

I had an old credit card debt in a IVA which completed in 2016 and M&S were one of the creditors. I have recovered from the IVA and have a good credit record now but when I applied for a M&S card they turned me down saying I already have an account with them. I wondered how long creditors keep records after 6 year rule? It's not enforceable as it is statute barred and they have never chased the debt which dates back to 2008 when the IVA started.
