  • PRA help please!

    Hello!

i had a debt with 4000 left with Barclays, they sold the debt to PRA group, I requested the CCA which I received within a week or so... I have since sent them a f&f offer of £550, they declined the offer asking for a minimum of £3811.62.

has anyone got any advice on where I go from here? I have no idea how to negotiate with them and their offer is so so far away from what I would be able to organise!!

    thank you

    Hi & welcome

What is the alleged debt for? (Credit card? OD? etc)

When did the credit agreement terminate?

When was the last payment to it?

Have you since acknowledged owing it in writing?

My last payment was when it was still with Barclays, so December. I acknowledged I had received a reconstituted copy of the agreement but that’s all.

how do I find out when an agreement ended?
thanks for your responses, very much appreciated

SAR Barclays for all data held pertaining to this agreement.

            Example - https://legalbeagles.info/library/gu...ccess-request/

Keep a copy & get proof of posting.

Thank you, will do this tomorrow.

im not disputing in anyway that I don’t owe the money, although in total over the last couple of years Barclays took off almost £1800 for “irresponsible lending”

are PRA likely to budge on their offer do you think? I hadn’t gotten as far as thinking how I would respond to an offer rejection. Sorry if any questions are stupid I have no experience in this & am trying to get as much info as possible

Get the info first (via the SAR)
Always negotiate from a position of strength.

If it were me I'd write to PRA to say that details are being sourced from Barclays &, once received, this will be dealt with accordingly
Again, keep copy & get proof of posting. (either free cert of posting, or 'tracked' SignedFor.)

& do not deal with them via the 'phone.....they only have their own interests at heart!
