  • HP VT Excess Mileage

    Hi all,

I’ve currently got a car on HP with Motonovo. It was bought to be used as a taxi so the mileage is over 100k. I can VT the agreement next month but in the small print it states about average mileage of 12k a year, so by my calculations I’ll owe them over £8000 in excess mileage!

Can they chase me for this if I refuse to pay on the grounds of the car being used as a taxi?

    thanks

Of course they can pursue you, whether you pay is a different story. Voluntary termination limits your liability but if you misled the finance company into thinking your an ordinary driver and not using it for business purposes then they may be able to argue misrepresentation and reclaim at least the excess mileage charges or if total amount payable under the agreement is lower, then it would be limited to that.

If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
