loan charges

Hi All
I have just sent a loan company a data protection letter asking for all the charges for the last 6 years I have sent it recorded delivery and am hoping others have done the same and can help me ,they sent me this week a default and I want to know how I can get this loan charges back and stop more charges being added I took out the loan in 1998 and am struggling to pay the last 4 years at first they accepted part payment but are now becoming more threatning the charges have put the loan up by nearly 5000 pounds as I am the only one working now I cannot afford to pay the full monthly payment . I have sent a letter of income and out goings and a set ammount to pay each month but want to know how to get these charges back that they appear to have added when I have asked by phone before what they are they seem to change the subject

OK.. A few questions if you don't mind

1. How much was the original loan amount for (not strictly important, but it's nice to know all the facts)?

2. When did you send them the Data Protection act Request?

3. How much were the original payments, and how much did you then offer them?

OK. Question time over, here are my thoughts.

Yes you've done right in sending them a DPA request and yes we can definately help you reclaim all the unlawful charges they have made.

Have you also considered sending them a CCA request? CCA Request Letter

Last of all for now, don't ever phone them! Make sure you conduct all business with them in writing only.
