  • Full and Final settlement offer advice

Hi all my dad has offered to help me try and and settle some of my debts so i want to make some full and final settlement offers to my creditors i have modified the national debtline FF settlement template then had one of there people look at the alterations i had made using copy and paste on the live chat facility they said everything was fine except i shouldn't state the fact that the offer of the amount from my father is time limited.
And should reserve this fact for a later date if needed, does anybody have an opinion on this?

Try this it's simpler and covers all the points

        Dear creditor.

I refer to the debt for £ xxxx.xx your Refxxxx I'm in a position to make an offer of full and final payment on this matter, this is made as a gesture of goodwill and without admission of any liability.

I make an offer of £ xxx.xx on the following conditions.

        1. The remaining balance is not to be sold or assigned to any third party for collection.
        2. Any Credit reference file entries are marked as settled.

This offer remains open for xx days from the date hereon and if acceptable the payment will be made within 7 days of receipt of your written acceptance of the offer.
offer 10- 15% of the balance at first then you have time to " negotiate".

        nem

Send No money until you have the acceptance letter (s)

For 10 days from the date hereon (does that mean 10 days from the date that i put on the top of the settlement?)

Also should i send these offers by recorded delivery? or is normal post fine as long as i keep a copy of the letter?

Hi, personally I would use signed for post kept the post receipt and a hard copy of each letter, so if anything in the way of queries should arise at a later date.

Hi What companies do you owe money to?. And for how much?. legally if you are in financial hardship you will be obliged to only offer £1 a month. Then have a look at all other debts etc and claim for all the benefits you can do.
