    Hi,

I have been contacted by a company called Akinika regarding a debt with Halifax (Royal Bank of Scotland) saying that they would like me to do an income and expenditure on their website in order for me to set up a repayment plan with them. what would your advice be on this.

    Many Thanks

    Hi welcome,

Is this the first contact you have had from them about this?
i.e. Have you had a Notice of Assignment from Akinika or HBOS?
Most certainly do not do what they suggest.

Are you aware of this debt?
What type of account is it?

    nem.

They have contacted me a couple of times over the phone but I have had no letter from either company. I have told Akinika each time that it was not the right time to talk but they have been trying to call me at least three times per day.

      Thanks

        Hi nem,

I think the debt is for a credit card that I haven't used for about two years but as yet I have had no letter from either company. Akinika are trying to call me at least three times per day and I am worried that if I ignore them they will send debt collectors round to my property.

Hi, It is highly unlikely that any visits will be made, anyway if they did call all you need to do/say is "I will deal with this only in writing"
Then " invite" the visitor to leave the premises forthwith or the police will be called.

How is Akininka's letter worded please is it working on behalf of the bank or a 3rd party?
