    hi all

    some advice would be appreciated over some very pesty tactics by transcom. i cannot get these people to listen or leave me in peace.
    it started about 6-8 wks ago when i recieved a letter out of the blue from arrow global stating i owed them a vast amount of money and now it has been transferred to transcom to start getting it re-paid.
    ive never heard of either of them!! i also have never taken out credit in my life. that is honest, i was brought up to live within my means and it has stuck. anyway digressing...
    i looked on this forum and sent transcom a consumer credit act prove it letter. 3 wks passed and i heard nothing back. then a week later i started to recieve calls from trancom pressing for re-payment. i explained the prove it letter and to leave me in peace. fell on deaf ears.
    i sent off a telephone harrassment letter to transcom and reminded them they had failed to produce the legal documentation that was requested. again the phone calls keep coming 4-5 times a day, different numbers as well so you cannot keep check.
    i am at my wits end. can i be hounded like this if they have failed to produce or even explain where this extortionate amount has come from. i know it is not mine or connected in any way to me. i cannot change my number as i am self employed and it is displayed on my van, and i do not want to get into a writing fight with them as i think it will be one way traffic. is there anything i can do to get these people off my back?
    i am worried about my credit file if these people put judgements on it. as stated i am self employed and can be checked for judgements, insolvency, etc... and this would seriously harm me securing certain contracts in the future.

    any advice greatly appreciated.

    They can't just record judgments or insolvency on your credit file, for judgments they'd have to issue a claim which you'd have the opportunity to defend, only if you either failed to respond to the claim, or lost in court, could they obtain judgment. Insolvency would require them starting with a statutory demand which you could get set aside. :thumb:

      the thread you attached is perfect. would have had no idea on how to put that together, many thanks. hopefully will give them the message intended.
      also thanks for the advice on my credit file. as stated i have never taken credit out before (apart from mortgage) so have never had to worry about anything appearing on it till these numpties surfaced and claim a debt which is not mine. feel more at ease that they cannot harm it till i get it sorted and quashed for final.

        hi, just an update.

        i recieved a reply from transcom global worldwide (UK) who went on the back foot from the start claiming it was arrows global account and they were acting in the best interests. they referred it back to arrow and closed all accounts and contacts in my name.
        i have now recieved a lettter from arrow global basically apologising for this mistake as i am not the recipient they are looking for and apologies, blah,blah.

        would like to thank-you flaming parrot for your response and thread attached as it worked to bring this matter to a swift end as i was at my wits end as how to conclude this swiftly and with a response for them to take notice and investigate.
