  • British Gas playing dirty

I changed from British Gas to another supplier last year. British Gas didn't send me a final bill but sent a reminder. I requested a bill and they said they had sent one. After a while and still no bill, I asked them to send it recorded delivery and they agreed. Still no bill but letter from Moorcroft Debt Recovery. Wrote to Moorcroft explaining the situation and they replied stating that they will not make further contact whilst the issue is investigated.

I then get and have continued to get letters from Past Due Credit for the same account.

    Can they do this?

    Hi
Was in exactly same position and ignored PDC and wrote to BG putting account in dispute. This was 2 years ago. PDC stopped emailing.
Recently checked my credit files and found they registered a default.
As I don't work on credit I haven't bothered to follow it up, but you may find it worth checking your credit files.

Hi, I don't need credit either so the credit reference files don't affect me luckily. As I said, I've informed BG and they've just decided to ignore that and engage DCs. My question is, can they use 2 different DCs to chase the same debt at the same time?

I think you'll find that Moorcroft have dropped out of the picture and PDC are last resort who also give up if ignored.
