Hi

I have had Mackenzie just take over a debt from cabot financial, it is a debt that date backs to summer 2007. This is the first time i have been chased for it in 7 years. I sent them a statute barred email and letter. They have not responded to my letter but i have received a email from them today saying:

Reference: XXXXXX


Thank you for your recent correspondence.

To allow us to provide further information and ensure we comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 before responding to your query via email we require that you confirm the following

Date of Birth

Please also confirm that you are happy for us to send account related information to the email address supplied.
Once we have received this information we will then be able to advise on any information required.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to respond by email. Alternatively please telephone our offices on 01563 503755 where an agent will be able to assist you

Send them another letter by 'recorded and signed for' post (cost under £2.00).
Keep the post office receipt. It has a unique bar-code which shows proof of delivery if you need it.

You have already received from me, information that your Ref No xxxxxxxx, is a statute barred debt.
As such, I shall not be paying you any money, now or in the future.
You have failed to show, that I acknowledged the debt, or made any payment within the statutory six years.
Until such time as you provide any evidence to the contrary, I decline to correspond with you any further.

THEY SENT YOU A DEMAND FOR MONEY, SO THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR DETAILS
