  • MKRR Strange Letter

    Hi Guys
i would appreciate if anyone has information regarding a new type of letter I've had from MKRapid Recoveries. Last time I wrote to them for a copy of the Credit Agreement etc they never got back. This was over two years ago. It seems the merry go round is beginning again. First a letter a a month ago from a related company asking the occupant (me!) if they knew me and could I pass on my contact details regarding a 'business matter'. I've now received a letter regarding a 'recent communication regarding transfer of ownership of your balance'.
This is a new one on me. As they still haven't produced a copy of the original credit agreement I intend to ignore. I have question for you more knowledgable Beagles out there. As the debt was first come into dispute in 2009 and it's now 2014 and I living in Scotland but the loan was taken out while I lived in England does the Scottish or English statue barred time period come into operation?

    Kindest regards

    Dosh

These letters are typical phishing letters. I deal with them either by ignoring them or by asking how much they are prepared to pay for the information. They never actually offer anything.

As regards your query about English or Scottish Law. If you have lived in Scotland for more than 6 months and are still resident there the Scottish Law applies and the debt will be extinguished after 5 years as opposed to being Statute Barred after 6 (Dates apply from date when they could have taken action)
