Interesting one, had a MBNA CC defaulted to LINK, Fought them off.

Default went SB in October 2013. They have started calling again and have received written communication, attached (Such that it is!)

Time for an SB letter?, They advise me that “We will consider further recovery action which may increase the amount you will need to pay back” ?

    Any Thoughts?

Personally speaking i have considerable experience of link and their dirty tricks, ignore their threats and send them the Statute Barred letter and tell them via recorded delivery letter without your signature that if they continue to harass you and threaten you that you will report them to the relevant bodies.

In my experience link are not to be trusted and if they ever call you be firm with them and refuse to confirm any of their nonsense security questions. Simply state that you are recording the conversation and you insist that they do not contact you by telephone again otherwise you will report them, any correspondence in future must be in writing only! Put down telephone.

Cheers Mr Dare, Or may I call you Dan !

You are correct Link are scumbags, in their defence of the highest order! (Always be good at something.. and they are scumbags of the Highest Order)..

Still considering the SB letter, but just trying to work out what they are at.. I know its cobblers but it’s time to play, I’ve been around a while (on other sites) but haven’t been posting much (as life moves along)..

They called twice last week, on mobile (was walking the dog & could not be bothered, so I just laughed and said no thanks, interestingly the “Lady” said she was from Links (new recruit or just dumb?, make your own mind up!) other call was to Landline.. Missed that, Out with Dog (but would have recorded..)

Its 6+ years, and I have kept every communication, all the letters etc.. Must sit down and do a time line for everyone to have a look at..

Hope subscribers to the Legal Beagles realize the great work the site (and people involved) do to help others in diffs !

Thanks for Now, I will be back, as Arnie would say..

I’m with you sir, but just wondering what “We will consider further recovery action which may increase the amount you will need to pay back” What that Fecking means (if anything!)

I suspect they may attempt to kidnap the dog (good luck with that)..

But I do wonder if it’s another “Tax Dodge” the same way that a CC Company, that can’t be named for Legal reasons, dumped my “Alleged Account” in the first place… If your with me?

It means nothing, those are just generic template letters where they threaten people with costs and charges, to push you to pay.

If the debt is SBd, I'd just send them the letter, it's against the OFT guidance to keep pressing a debtor who has sent such a letter to the creditor, stating the debt is SB and won't be paid.

If you are referring to debts being sold to debt purchasers, then yes, they get written off by the lender for tax purposes, but that's not exactly a 'tax dodge'.
