  • BCT and Lowell

    Hi all,

to cut a long story short I had an account with BCT I defaulted on years back, I have since been making regular payments to them, they have written to me and said the account now belongs to Lowell since 01/10/13. The amount I defaulted on was 525, I have got the balance outstanding down to 300, yet Lowell are asking for 569, any idea what is going on here? I have existing debts that have been bought by Lowell that have been ignored for a while due to my financial circumstances, do I don't really want to have to contact them as I'm sure it will stir up a hornets nest and get them chasing me for all the old accounts. Should I ask BCT?

Gahhh, seems like things just got a whole lot worse, I spoke to BCT this morning, they have sold all their debts to Lowell, so I can guarantee a raft of incoming help requests.

I owe them £10k on an old HP agreement, I am paying £50 a month off this, are they obliged to stick to the agreement I have with BCT? I can't afford any more than that, or is it going to be a case of they will take me to court over it? Can the court refuse my offer of £50 a month? I'm really confused and a bit worried now.

How old is the HP agreement and do you still have the goods you were hiring/buying that way?

No, I got the car back in 2006 I think, they took the car back as I was unable to pay, no paperwork was signed etc when they took it. They sold it at auction for around £3500 and credited the account that amount.

Interestingly I got the paperwork through for the 10K one this morning, I phoned them up to see if they will still continue to accept £50 they did, stupidly I am paying via DD not SO as I did with BCT. But on the paperwork I got from Lowell it says "we are aware the account has been though litigation and a CCJ has already been obtained" I spoke to BCT they said there was no CCJ, but they classed the vehicle as being repossessed. I have got them to send a statement through to me as I want to start reclaiming charges from them as they admitted that 9000ish was the balance but I owe Lowell 10100 due to charges.

          This is a right mess.
