Is this true from arrow collections

If you do not take the problem with us first you will not be entitled to complain to the ombudsman.

Re: threatening letter from arrow collection

Could you give us a bit more information? What are Arrow chasing you for and why do you think you should complain to the ombudsman? The FOS doesn't get involved in issues regarding enforceability of accounts.

Normally you'd complain to the FOS about the conduct of financial institutions rather than DCAs, in which case it's true that you need to complain to the bank before going to the ombudsman. See this: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...complaints.htm

complain to your bank, insurance company or finance firm

It's important that you complain first to the business you're unhappy with – and give them a chance to look into your problem. They have eight weeks to do this. We can help by contacting the business for you, and telling them about your complaint.
You'd normally report the conduct of DCAs to the OFT who are in charge of consumer credit licensing, not that they do much about it: http://www.oft.gov.uk/about-the-oft/...n#.Up8aU43sNgc

    Debt collection guidance for consumers

If you are a consumer and would like more information, view OFT1299 - Been contacted by a debt collector? (pdf 82kb), an overview of some of the things you should be aware of when dealing with a debt collector.
