  • Lowell Portfolio 1 ltd nuisance

    Hi all

Just after a little advice regarding this company. I have recently split with my partner who has since moved out from our house. Its been a few months now and i got sick of receiving her post, mainly debt letters. As she was reluctant to change her address with them i took it upon myself to ring these companies myself and give them her new address as i was beginning to get bailiffs knocking on my door for her. I received a letter one day from sed company, so i rang them to give them her new address. Two days later i get a notification from Experian to say i had a search on my credit file, after investigation it turns up that its Lowell. At the time i didn't give it much thought as it was an unrecorded entry. 2 months have now passed and i have 5 searches on my file from them. Every time i get a notification and my credit file is now saying that these searches are negatively effecting my score. I have no idea where they got my name from as i never gave it to them. Im also in no way joined to my ex partner credit wise as far as im aware. So in all im just wandering if these searches are effecting my credit file and if so what can i do?
    Thank in advance

    Apologies for the late response.

Bailiffs? What for? Normally you'd only get bailiffs at the door for debts like council tax, court and parking fines, rather than unsecured consumer credit. For these types of debts, the creditor would have to obtain a CCJ first, then apply to the court for a warrant of execution before sending bailiffs, and that doesn't happen often. Could they have been merely debt collectors?
