Hi guys,
I live in a block of flats and the charges are horrendous to say the least. We pay over a £1000 a year to RMG to manage the estate, this year they added on another £300 odd to claw back a deficit.
Anyway I paid around 400 of this earlier in the year, and was going to pay the rest off by the end of November - they offer a standing order service (which I missed to be honest) but still made payments to them.
recently I got a letter from a company called PDC demanding that I pay the remaining money that's owed to them, or get it added to my mortgage, which was over £1250. I paid £250 to RMG last week, I then got another letter from PDC thanking me for the payment then stating I had 4 days to pay the remainder or add to my mortgage.
I emailed RMG in a fit of RAGE, although I didn't swear but stated facts that I had actually paid money to them and was happy to clear the charges by november when the standing order setup ends. I stated that I was not happy and I was unwilling to deal with PDC as to do not have a debt with PDC. I actually do not have a debt at all considering its service charge for work that is ongoing (to a poor standard at that).
To this I received and email from RMG stating that the account was not with PDC and all communication was to go through them, further to this the customer service rep stated that my account was now LOCKED. I logged into my RMG account and found that it was indeed locked, and they had disabled the credit card/debit card payment screen, i.e. I am unable to pay them using that service.
I have emailed them back asking them to clarify what they mean by my account being locked. I am not sure where to go on this but its quite bad practice by a company to play such games.
I've got the emails and I await their response, I've also asked for a subject access request relating my account between themselves and PDC, I want to know what information they are passing onto PDC about me and how!
Anyway anyone got any advice as to how to deal with this, I am unable to pay the full amount right now but shall be able to clear the remainder not including PDC's over inflated fee's by November.
Thanks.
