  • Log Book Loans

Hi, Yes that dreaded name again Log Book Loans

Stupidly, like many people in these times of hardship,i took out a top up on my Log book loan.
I arranged to meet the girl from log book at my local cash converters and complete the paperwork

However when she turned up ,she said she was feeling very ill ,having driven 60 odd miles on a hot day with nothing to drink.

She left me to complete the paperwork myself ,whilst she went and sat down and tried to recompose herself.

I did this, but i also read through the documents as well.

I then signed all the documents with no one there and the girl came back and asked one of the cash converter employees to witness everything.

Which he did. Also she didnt take a picture of me with my vehicle, which apparently log book loans have to do after being told off by a judge. They have a pic with me and my vehicle from my previous log book loan,,. Now i have fallen behind with the repayments and they have issued me with a default notice. I have been adviseed to apply to the court for a time order, but the worry is, will a judge grant it or will he/she turn round and say ,you took out the loan ,you pay it.
Sorry for the long winded story

There's no way any of us could predict what a judge may or may not do.

Have you checked that the Bill of Sale has been registered with the High Court? :beagle:

      Re: Log Book Loans

As labman says get the BOS checked to see if it has been registered, the one you have been given should bear the court stamp, also it needs to be in the correct form, if it isn;t it is not enforceable.

Have you contacted national debtline ? they are usually very good at dealing with these.

Otherwise if you want to post both the agreement and the associated credit agreement on here minus any identifying details we will have a look to see if there is any obvious signs of none compliance.
