  • Restons Solicitors Problem

    Hi everyone

Today I received a letter from Restons Solicitors on behalf of a company called Arrow Global Limited.

This is the 1st letter and I have never had dealings previously with either company so I am quite worried as they are demanding money I don't have as I'm currently a student.

I did some quick research on arrow global and I found out there some kind of debt collection company. The only thing I have defaulted on was an orange mobile back in 2008 as I was sold a contract that I couldn't get any signal in the area I lived.

I can only think this is the debt Arrow Global would be on about.

    The letter says the following.

    Dear Sir

RE: Arrow Global Limited v. Yourself

Our client, Arrow Global Limited, has passed to us the above numbered account to seek immediate payment of the outstanding balance in the sum of £350.09. As this account has been pre-selected by our client for litigation it is open to them to take appropriate action which may include County Court proceedings should payment not be made.

If you are able to pay £350.09 you can do so without speaking to us by telephoning 01925 661669 and selecting option 1. the it goes on to say what cards they accept and don't accept etc.

I am really unsure of this debt as it can only be the orange mobile does anyone have any advice on how i should proceed.

(I am also located in Scotland if that makes anything different).

    Thanks in advance!

Arrow Global are a debt purchaser, that's why you wouldn't have dealt with them before.

Could well be the case, but, as you are not really sure what this debt relates to, I'd say you should start by sending them the 'Prove it' letter: http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...9479#post59479

Sadly, mobile phone contracts do not fall under the CCA.

It could well make things different depending on the exact date you defaulted on your contract, if there has been no acknowledgment in writing or payment made into this account, it could well be Statute Barred, because the Statute of Limitations in Scotland is just 5 years. Any idea WHEN in 2008 you defaulted? :confused2:

A few months back, I received a letter informing me that I has been pre-selected(ish) to win a brand new state-of-the-art tv.
            That didn't materialise, either!

I have had a set of court paperwork for an orange debt which goes back to 2000 and the debt was taken over in 2007, its for £500. This was just an unresolved issue with Orange but was for nowhere near this amount. Part of me just wants to offer an instalment payment to get rid of it but the other part of me is reluctant to pay anything? Please help

Hi alisonmiller60 and welcome to Legal Beagles.

When did you last pay towards, or acknowledge the alleged debt (in writing)?

                    & where do you live?

In that case, have a read of this - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/en...limitation_act

(I got this from a post someone made recently - can't think who it was! )
