    Hi,

I have just received a letter from 1st Credit Limited, its saying that we have made a instalment agreement with them and they are reviewing it. They say its a debt from Marbles and the marbles account number they give isn't the same as ours! We still use the marbles card and have been making payments on each month and have never missed a payment to them!

Is this letter legit? I cant see they having a debt on a card we still use!

    Please help me!

    Morning

If your Marbles account is up to date, and you are not in breach of your agreement with Marbles, then i would suggest you write back to 1st Credit and advise them that your account with marbles is up to date, and that you would like an explanation why they are writing to you quoting someone elses account number.

Its likely that Marbles have sold a batch of accounts to 1st Credit, and made a balls up on the details. These things do happen, they shouldnt, but they do sadly.

You should keep that letter and any response to your letter even if you believe this debt has nothing to do with you  This would not be the first time 1st Credit has chased a debt which doesn't belong to the right person and since they issue statutory demands and county court proceedings at the drop of a hat it would be wise to keep a paper trail which you can show to any judge in future.
